Bankruptcy of an Empire
The failures of history are being repeated!
Saturday 6 December 2014

The term Empire is used here in reference to the United States in order to differentiate the Republic of Sovereign States, which the founders intended, from that of the Empire it has since become.  The Confederate Cause in the modern context of our times is peaceful, and involves restoring the Grand Ole Republic, and collapsing the Empire.  The sovereign States of the Grand Ole Republic would then stand along side a free and independent Confederate States of America.
“There are more instances of the abridgment of the freedom of the people by gradual and silent encroachments of those in power than by violent and sudden usurpations.” --- James Madison.
The United States, as of the writing of this article is well over eighteen trillion dollars in debt, which when written in digits appear as follows: $18,000,000,000.00, and that figure is growing by a trillion and a half every year.  How did the United States get itself in such a mess, and where does it end?  The truths of history have been well documented, and still modern nations and empires fail to heed its lessons.  Therefore "Those who ignore history are destined to repeat It!" --- George Santana.

Cicero stated in 55 BC in regards to the Roman Empire, which itself failed to head histories warning signs, “So what have we learned in two millennia?  "The budget should be balanced, the Treasury should be refilled, public debt should be reduced, the arrogance of officialdom should be tempered and controlled, and the assistance to foreign lands should be curtailed lest Rome become bankrupt.  People must again learn to work, instead of living on public assistance.”

The Roman Empire repeated the failures of past empires, having ignored the lessons of history!  The 20th century Union of Soviet Socialist Republics, commonly known as the Soviet Union or the USSR, again followed all those ancient empires and collapsed after only 72 years in power.  The Empires of Ancient Greece, Babylon, Persia and Rome, all suffered the same fate, and for the same reasons.  These four groups so clearly recorded in history, were willfully ignored or else misinterpreted!

These reasons can be categorized into four groups, collapse of the family unit, meaning {a man, woman and children}, and Importing goods and services from abroad, rather then making them at home.  Then there is the issue of devaluating the currency by removing its backing of gold or silver, which leads hyper inflation and devaluation.  And finally there is the one our forefathers fear most, that of a growing, out of control national debt.

The national debt continues to grow for many reason, which was addressed by Benjamin Franklin where he stated, “When the people find that they can vote themselves money, that will herald the end of the republic.” --- Benjamin Franklin.  All this leads to a dependency on government, a situation well understood by Thomas Jefferson, who made a statement which could have been made in modern times!

“The natural progress of things is for liberty to yield and government to gain ground.” --- Thomas Jefferson.  Jefferson also stated, “To take from one, because it is thought his own industry and that of his fathers has acquired too much, in order to spare to others, who, or whose fathers, have not exercised equal industry and skill, is to violate arbitrarily the first principle of association, the guarantee to everyone the free exercise of his industry and the fruits acquired by it.”

As conditions worsen, government exercises ever more control over the economy and the people, all quite naturally in the national interest and for there own good.  While that mass known as ‘we the people’ should know better, far to often the voters fall for the governments offer of ever more money and benefits.  All this takes place while the vary definition of family is altered for the sake of politically correctness.

Our imports grow while goods and services made at home diminish, the currency continues to devaluate and the national debt grows ever larger, with every passing day.  One would think our educational system would enlighten the people, but not so, liberals and their Public Unions have made certain the students are ‘dummied’ down, so otherwise unqualified teachers, professors and subject matter do not interfere with their benefits.

The United States has somehow forgotten, not only the four items mentioned above, but also the vary foundation of what was created to be a Voluntary Union of Sovereign States.  “Each State, in ratifying the Constitution, is considered as a sovereign body, independent of all others, and only to be bound by its own voluntary act.  In this relation then, the new Constitution will, if established, be a FEDERAL, and not a NATIONAL constitution. --- George Mason.

However in order to correct course, requires the government in Washington DC to return to and respect the limits place upon it by their own constitution, and to return sovereignty to the individual States, as George Mason describes.  Which is not likely to take place, inasmuch as it would require today’s politicians to come down from their arrogance, as well as there lust for ever more control and political power.  So it all ends in collapse, just as did all those empires, which have gone before us!

God save the Confederacy

How large will the national debt grow before the collapse comes?”
