What is the Confederate Legion Youth Corps?
The Confederate Legion Youth Corps was established on 22 May 2006 through the support and representation of the Confederate Legion. The purpose of the Confederate Legion Youth Corps is to educate and train youth about the truth of the Confederate States of America. The Confederate Legion Youth Corps is opened to all youth age 8 to 18 who are interested those things Confederate and Southern.
The Confederate Legion Youth Corps is a subsidiary of the Confederate Legion; therefore those who become members of the Youth Corps are also members of the Confederate Legion at large. The Confederate Legion itself is a Confederate Military Ceremonial Honor Guard which will participate in parades and other ceremonies.
The Youth Corps believes in and advocates the history, heritage, culture and nationhood of the Confederate States of America. However our programs and strategies are geared toward our young people. Those who join our numbers become members of a brotherhood, a sisterhood and a Christian, family oriented organization.
While our mission and purpose is most serious we carry out our functions with the expectation of sharing a learning experience in an enjoyable and moral atmosphere. We also invite responsible adults and parents to participate, providing leadership and guidance. Our Youth Corps also is developing programs which will allow our members to engage in social and civic activities.
Our long term hope is to eventually provide youth camps with professional outdoorsmen and out doorwomen whereby our young people may safely enjoy the natural world around them. Our youth of today is our adult citizens of tomorrow, it would behoove us to share our time and experiences with them. Join, participate and help build tomorrow, today!
