Greetings; I am Thomas Guinn, Founder of the Confederate Legion and it's Gideon Battalion! We believe that every individual has certain unalienable rights, that among these is the right of all peoples, to decide for themselves, what manner of society, government and nation shall be theirs. We maintain that these rights are not endowed by government, but by the Almighty God in creation.
These rights cannot be legislated, adjudicated or regulated away from us! It should be obvious to everyone concerned, that the usurpation of power by Washington will not cease, that even now our liberties are threatened by an all powerful bureaucracy. We face a Federal Government that has abandoned all but a pretense of constitutional restraint, in addition to a mass media, which munpulates elections through it bias coverage.
If you believe in restricted, restrained and limited government, that the States, via their own citizens, are sovereign over all domestic affairs, within their respective borders? That membership in this Union of States is voluntary? If you are opposed to political correctness, racial preferences and socialism, then join with us? If you believe in true equality, as well as 'Freedom of Religion' verses 'Freedom from Religion' then again, join with us. Together we shall see lifted, the heavy hand of oppression laid upon Christianity and Judaism.
Our beloved President Jefferson Davis stated after the war; "The contest is not over, the strife is not ended. It has only entered upon a new and enlarged arena.'' We believe, that great and terrible war erroneously known as the 'Civil War' has not ended, it has rather been transformed into a political cultural war, at steak is the very survival of our individual freedoms.

The Boy Who Was Two People

Just prior to entering my teen years I moved from a country farm to the big city, where I lived in a Children’s Home with about 220 others, living in 12 separate home type buildings called cottages. There arose among us a very unusual character, whose duel identities remains secret, even unto this very day!
I found out about the duel nature of this young boy and friend at the time, but nonetheless, I never reveled it to anyone else, thus he passed into adulthood completely unknown in is double personality. This young teenager with the alternate identity was himself somewhat of a mystery, being able to become 2 separate people!
He was shy, considered backward at the time, and to use a description common in those days, he was considered mentally retarded, even attended a school created for such people. This young teenager was the sort, that his peers made fun of and they ridiculed him!
This is what made his story so unusual, for he had another side of his nature, he was also a kind, honest and honorable boy, attuned to the concept of justice, fair play and maturity, far beyond his years. He also had many natural talents, which he never revealed to others and kept to himself!
Among his talents, was that there were precious few locks he could not open or spaces he could not enter, and he had a knack for being able to appear and disappear, seemingly at will, and unnoticed. You might say he also had an alter ego, wherein he would almost become a different person entirely!
When he switched identities, it was as if he was far more intelligent, uncommonly endowed with shrewdness, trickery and an uncanny ability to become, as it were, a hero to the others. However, no one, not even the adults of that day, knew of this young boys other nature or of his alternate identity!
He would make the switch only at carefully chosen moments, which he decided in his own way; he could also throw his voice and take on a disguise, and in the process he would all but become that other person he had disguised himself to be. He reminded me in many ways of Lon Chaney, the famous actor of the silent movie era!
Lon Chaney was the original ‘man of a thousand faces’ and became well known as the Hunchback of Nortadame. Most adults disciplined us kids, but treated us properly and in most cases, were also kind. However there were several that were, shall I say sourer faced, dishonest and tended to laid the blame upon us!
This young boy managed to pull off stunts and tricks that would amaze people, even in the 21st century, it was as if he was a great actor, a magician and Zorro all at the same time. Let me use an example, on a couple of occasions, he even impersonated famous popular singers of that day, and got by with it!
This teenage boy, using an alternate identity, whereby no one knew who was doing these things, become a kind of hero to the others, while at the same time, he continued to face ridicule and harassment in his day to day life. In effect his true identity and personality became a cover for his secondary alternate identity!
I mention this story because I come to know him and how amazing his story really was, how truly shocked his tormentors would have been, had they known who it was they were harassing. Interestingly enough, he could have very successfully lashed out at his tormentors in revenge, had he chosen to do so, but he never did!
I have shared this true story with you, in the thought that you might glean from it, a little truth and wisdom; much of what this amazing teenage boy did, came from his own imagination, maybe that is what we are missing today, in the Confederate Cause, a little imagination.
There's a couple of thing I never could quite figure out, was this boy truly mentally retarded, if so, how could be suddenly appear as the opposite, an intelligent, coordinated person able to do things few of us could? And which identity was truly his own, the retarded boy or the one which display a high degree of intelligence?
Surely, if a young teenage boy who was considered mentally retarded could do such amazing things, the Confederate Cause in general and the Confederate Legion in particular, can come up with better then it has thus far.
