       Miracle at Appomattox

The day an entire nation knelt to pray!

Thursday 9 April 2009 marks the 144th anniversary since the surrender of our Confederate Armies, beginning at Appomattox Courthouse Virginia, where General Robert E. Lee surrendered the Army of Northern Virginia to General Ulysses S. Grant, which began the prolonged occupation of our people and nation.  It is time for our people as a nation, to return to that very site, while doing so with a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, and humble ourselves in repentance, both as individuals and collectively as a nation.

We cannot come before the Almighty God in arrogance but with a broken spirit and a contrite heart of repentance, if we expect an answer.  “The sacrifices of God are a broken spirit: a broken and a contrite heart, O God, thou wilt not despise. {Pslams 51:17}.  Let this be a national call to prayer and repentance before our Lord and Savior.  It is in him alone, that the miracle of a free and independent Confederacy might be achieved.  Jesus said “And all things, whatsoever ye shall ask in prayer, believing ye shall receive. {Matthew 21:22}, but first we must come before him with a broken spirit and a broken, contrite heart of repentance.

General Thomas J. ‘Stonewall’ Jackson understood this when he said; "Without God's blessing I look for no success, and for every success my prayer is, that all the glory may be given unto Him to whom it is properly due.  If people would but give all the glory to God and regard his creatures as but unworthy instruments my heart would rejoice.  Alas too frequently the praise is bestowed upon the creature. "  General Jackson’s faithful servant reported that the general was often found in prayer, and the more fearsome the expected battle, the more fervently he prayed.

While the battle phase of the War for Confederate Independence has come and gone, the struggle is not over by any means.  Our beloved President Davis stated before the Mississippi Legislature, 16 years after the war; ''The contest is not over, the strife is not ended.  It has only entered upon a new and enlarged arena.''  This means the final victory can only be won through humbling ourselves with a broken spirit, broken, contrite heart in prayer before the Lord.  It is past the time that we come to realize, that all of our programs, strategies and organizations will come to naught, unless we seek His face, diligently and collectively in prayer.

As for myself, I am neither capable nor worthy to lead in the preparations, nor to stand before the throngs of people, so a teams will be needed, consisting of those having the appropriate talents and experience, necessary in putting it all together.  Additionally, it is exceedingly important for this article to be circulated and published in every possible format and place.  It is my firm conviction that if our Lord and Savior will hear a single humbled voice that comes before him in prayer, how much more an entire people and nation.  It has been my privileged to work for the Confederate Cause, now I am asking, help bring on an enormous miracle!

Let 9 April 2009 at Appomattox Courthouse Virginia, be the place and date where we literally see a miracle that alters history forever!  The U.S. Supreme Court, Congress and none of the agencies of government, federal, state or municipal, will support the Confederate Cause.  The mass media and the popular culture will certainly not lend us a helping hand; it is entirely up to us, as a people and nation.  However the process must be well underway before any of us reach Appomattox Courthouse Virginia.  All of our people must come, leaving their divisions and preconceived notions behind!

My prayer before our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ is that our people will not only say yes, let us return to Appomattox, but that they will be so inspired as to cause a huge miracle to take place, directly from the Throne of Heaven’s Grace.  However, the depth of meaning behind this effort cannot be fully comprehended, unless the individual has read the titles hyper linked above.  I am asking for nothing less then a Call to Prayer, of such a magnitude, it will ring out across the width and depth of this land, in such as manner, as never before experienced by any people or nation.

The return of massive numbers of our people and nation to Appomattox Courthouse, will never happen merely because I say it should, rather when our people insist that it must, then take action to make it happen.  Then there is the issue of dealing with the Park Service, security, as well as the permits and legal arrangements.  But make no mistake about it, if we are to see a free and independent Confederate States of America, this is a road we must travel, or else all of our efforts are in vein.  Therefore what is offered here is a suggestion, awaiting more then a few positive responses, but a massive desire for a ‘Miracle at Appomattox.'

"The time will soon come wherein the Confederate and Southern People will find their options limited and they shall face unavoidable choices.  Either they shall be among those who rule or stand with those who are ruled by others.  They shall become a world-class power or become subservient to those who have.  If they are to avoid becoming subservient to a harsh tyrannical empire, they must combine the characteristics of honor, nobility and grace, with that of the mighty warrior.  Both must be embraced with equal zeal or else the Confederate and Southern People shall be reduced to slavery, howbeit by another name.  When these things come to pass they shall have truly earned the national title of Confederate." --- Gile McCade
