The Gideon Battalion
{In Hebrew, Gideon means destroyer}

.
“So he brought down the people unto the water and the Lord said unto Gideon, Every one that lappeth of the water with his tongue, as a dog lappeth, him shall thou set by himself; likewise every one that bowed down upon his knees to drink.  And the number them that lappets, putting their hand to their mouth, were three hundred men: but all the rest of the people bowed down upon their knees to drink.  And the Lord said unto Gideon, By the three hundred men that lapped will I save you, and deliver the Midianites into thine hand: and let all the other people go every man unto his place."
  (Judges 7:3-7).

.
The story of Gideon in the Bible tells of a man who by trade was a farmer not a military leader or soldier, yet God called him to save the Israelites from the Medianites.  Gideon, after testing whether it was God or not that called him, mustered an Army of 32,000 men!  However the Lord God told Gideon, there are to many men, so he sent those home, which were fearful, thereby reducing his army to 10,000 with which to face off against 100,000 of the mighty army of Median.
.
However, God once again informed Gideon that 10,000 was still to many, so based upon God’s instruction, he sent his army down to the waters edge to drink.  Those that lapped the water like a dog {put their mouth down to the water} were sent home, now Gideon was left with only 300 men, and with these he proved victorious.  Those, my Confederate Patriots, are odds!  You might say such a scenario can’t happen in the modern context of our times, but let us read further.
.
We propose to use the example of Gideon and his 300, and move the strategy forward in time from the 1248 years {Before Christ}, into the modern era of the 21st century.  Thus the Confederate Gideon Battalion has been launched, and will be manned with the best of the best, the select, steadfast, determined and loyal few.  Let us begin by asking, do you believe miracles take place in modern times, if so when and where are the examples?
.
Well, you need look no further then modern Israel, and consider this!   How is it that such a small nation, surrounded and outnumbered more then 600 to 1, by a ruthless enemy bent on her destruction, has somehow manage to survive and thrive?  There is a documentary that comes highly recommended, which is a must see, it is titled “Against All Odds Israel Survives” produced by American Trademark Pictures, and distributed by Questar Incorporated.
.
This DVD explains in 95 inspiring minutes, how Israel, time and again has faced overwhelming odds, which defy all logic, whereas this little nation should have perished.  We can indeed learn some lessons from history, how miracles in fact take place in the real world.  Additionally, they not only survive, but the desert itself has bloomed like a rose!  In every known case where God Fearing men, have taken a miraculous military strategy from the Holy Scripture, they have proven victorious.
.
If you believe such a thing is impossible, perhaps you should read from Matthew 17:20 of the Holy Scriptures where Jesus said “If ye have faith as a grain of mustard seed, ye shall say unto this mountain, remove hence to yonder place; and it shall remove; and nothing shall be impossible unto you.”  You are invited to browse our website and see for yourself, how 300 men will one day face off against an empire, just as did Gideon.

To God be the
glory!
