Short Story Time Inspirational Stories
Confederate Historic Fiction is a scenario whereby it is imagined that history has taken a different course, thereby we can see how things might have turned out, for better or worse. It might be noticed for example, that under a large number of circumstances, a single individual was responsible, for altering the course of history.
The great “what ifs” of history come to mind, for example what if Abraham Lincoln had never been born? What if Jefferson Davis had entered the 1860 Presidential race and defeated Abraham Lincoln? What if General Thomas J. “Stonewall” Jackson had lived and lead his army into Gettysburg, a three-day battle, fought on 1-3 July 1863.

Most historians would agree Stonewall Jackson’s presence, would have likely turned the tide of battle in favor of the Confederacy. General Robert E. Lee would then have marched the Army of Northern Virginia against the then mostly undefended Washington DC, and dictated terms of surrender to Abraham Lincoln. One man made all the difference in the outcome of history!

“Where there is no vision, the people perish … “ {Proverbs 29:18}. The issue before us is that many among our Confederate numbers have once more begun to dream and envision victory according to the teachings of the Holy Scriptures. Whether you perceive these dreams and vision to be prophetic or merely wishful thinking is for you to decide within yourself, which is an unalienable right granted according to the divine providence of Almighty God.

"Governor, if I had foreseen the use these people desired to make of their victory, there would have been no surrender at Appomattox, no, sir, not by me. Had I seen these results of subjugation, I would have preferred to die at Appomattox with my brave men, my sword in this right hand." --- General Robert E. Lee - as told to Texas ex-Governor F. W. Stockdale
