Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior said: "Let not your heart be troubled: ye believe in God, believe also in me.  In my Father's house are many mansions: if it were not so, I would have told you.  I go to prepare a place for you.  And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also."  {John 14:1-3}

Dear Pastor

Allow me to introduce myself!   I am the Founder, Confederate Legion; a lawful and peaceful military ceremonial honor guard which believes in and advocates the Almighty God in Christ Jesus, the Holy Scriptures and prayer.  While we are not a church sponsored organization we none-the-less make every attempt to provide a moral and Christian atmosphere in all of our activities.  Our membership includes children old enough to attend school up through senior citizens who participate in the Confederate Legion, the Confederate Legion Youth Corps as well as in our Adult Representatives program that provides guidance and supervision for our Youth Corps.

We believe the history, heritage, culture and nationhood of the Confederate States of America has been tainted by an ongoing negativity that falsely presents us, contrary to our true character and nature.  We hold certain truths to be self evident, that all men were created equal by Almighty God and endowed in creation with certain unalienable rights.  We believe that all human life is precious and to be nurtured from the moment of conception to the time of death by natural means.  Further we believe that Almighty God has endowed all peoples with the right to collectively choose what manner of society, government and nation shall be theirs.

We believe the Almighty God is omnipotent and omni-present therefore no attempt should be made to ban the Holy Scriptures and prayer from the Public School System or any other public activity, which constitutes a betrayal of the very concept of freedom OF religion.  We do not claim that our Confederate history, heritage and culture is perfect; the United States of America like the Confederate States of America permitted slavery at the time of their creation.  The Northern States sold slaves and the Southern States bought them; however slavery as an institution has passed into history where it properly belongs.

None the less we do maintain that if constitutional government is to retain its proper meaning and purpose, that of voluntary, limited self government, the overthrow of the Confederate States of America by force of arms can no more be considered legitimate then had that same fate been suffered by the United States.  The rescinding of a constitution based upon representative government and the disbanding of a nation provided under such a constitution has never been granted to generals, admirals or invading armies.  Those principles, which are better, understood as national sovereignty, is the basis of all civilized and democratic nations the world over.

Our Colonial forefathers believed in the right of a people to break the political bonds, which had connected them to the British Empire, and to assume the status of a free and independent nation.  This is a principle known as secession and was taught throughout the States, as well as at the West Point Military Academy prior to that great and terrible war.  The thirteen states of the South, believing their liberties were threatened, therefore acted upon that same principle which had been well understood by those who formed the United States of America.  Thereby they seceded from what was created to be a voluntary union of sovereign states; this action was never considered by these states to be an act of malice or treason, rather an act based upon their God given right of self governance.

We stand along side our forefathers in that we do not seek any aggrandizement nor do we have a desire to please the crowds, but that God alone receive the glory.  Ours is to strive toward the establishment or reestablishment as the case may be, of a society and nation wherein the Almighty God will be honored and the moral principles as laid down in the Holy Scriptures are common throughout society.  Where our families and homes are safe, our women and children may walk the streets unharmed.  Where the Christian Faith may be practiced and promulgated without the weight of an overbearing federal bureaucracy, and where the hand of government is light upon the people.

We ask only that our history, heritage and culture be given the justice, which it has every right to expect, and our nation granted the same freedom and those who subjugated us by arms have heretofore claimed independence as.   The symbol of Saint Andrews Cross emblazoned upon the Confederate States National, Battle Flag and Navy Jack is no more a symbols of bigotry and hate then the Christian Cross, for both have been handed down to us from the Apostles of Christ Jesus our Lord and Savior.  We ask that judgment not be passed upon ourselves or our symbols based upon those who have abused or misused them, for if this be the case then all national symbols are open to condemnation for these same reasons, since nearly all have flown over slavery, segregation or tyranny at some point in time.

Our desire is for the Confederate States of America to be liberated and restored as a free and independent nation through solely lawful, peaceful and honorable methods.  We propose that the Confederate Legion become the instrument of that mission and purpose as a voluntary, non-profit, Christian, family oriented organization.  That the Christian Churches of every denomination support our just and honorable cause so that together we might become a light unto a heathen world and the cornerstone of a new birth of freedom.  Let it be known by everyone concerned that all freedom loving individuals are welcome to join our numbers; if liberty, freedom and equality be truly our purpose, then let it begin here and now under the cross of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.

To God be the Glory!

Psalm of Praise  "Make a joyful noise unto the Lord, all ye lands.  Serve the Lord with gladness: come before his presence with singing.  Know ye that the Lord he is God: it is he that hath made us, and not we ourselves; we are his people, and the sheep of his pasture.  Enter into his gates with thanksgiving, and into his courts with praise: be thankful unto him, and praise his name.  For the Lord is good; his mercy is everlasting; and his truth endureth to all generations."  {Pslams 100}
