To you, The Confederate Legion, we commit the vindication of our history, heritage, culture and nationhood of the Confederate States of America. To your dedication and devotion we commission the charge to become political lobbyists and activists. Thereby causing our people to regain the strength necessary with which to terminate the political and cultural genocide being waged against all things Confederate and Southern.

To you, we charge the restoration of the Southern Culture to dominance in a modern context, and the Confederate States of America to the status of an independent nation according to the Confederate States Constitution. Not in the slothfulness of indifference, Nor in order to walk in the halls of power, But for future generations yet unborn.

We feel that our cause is just and holy; we protest solemnly in the face of mankind that we desire peace at any sacrifice save that of honor and independence; we ask no conquest, no aggrandizement, no concession of any kind from the States with which we were lately confederated; all we ask is to be let alone; that those who never held power over us shall not now attempt our subjugation by arms." --- President Jefferson Davis - 29 April 1861
